Thompson have been offering this option for years, on some sailings its free, but on the rest it varies s from £49 - £199 for a week. So it can be unto £30 a day per person. Great if you like to drink a lot, but not so if you just want a few here and there. The best option here would be to just pick the sailings were the package is free or very little.
Now for Celebrity. At the moment on Celebrities UK based sailings on Eclipse / Infinity for 2014, you get a free all inclusive drinks package when you book. Now this is excellent value for money. With Celebrity being dollars on board coupled with the 15% bar surcharge they charge on all purchases this can save you an absolute bundle.
Next we have MSC cruises. Now they charge £20 per person per day on pretty much all sailings. The good thing here is that while the drinks package is not actually free, the cruise price is usually very appealing. For example, a UK cruise on Opera may start at £499 for 8 nights, So £659pp with an all inclusive drinks package for and 8 night voyage doesn't sound too bad at all.
Finally we have Fred Olsen. This year you can get this package added onto your bill for the small amount of £10 per person per night. Next year on certain sailings you can get it for £6 per person per night. Again extremely good value, but with Fred Olsen there is not as much going on in the evening say as Celebrity. saying that even if you just have 2 - 3 drinks throughout the day and one at night, that is your more than the£6 you paid spent.
So there you have it. More reasons to chose one of the above cruises. I could not mention everyone who offers all inclusive but if you want to know more, or if you have any questions. Please let me know.
